Green Purchasing in the Carolinas

On March 4-6, 2009, the Carolinas Association of Government Purchasers (CAGP) held their Spring Conference and Vendor Show in New Bern, North Carolina. The opening session, “Going Green While Saving Green” put the spotlight on green purchasing, featuring presentations from: RPN Senior Director, Chris O’Brien; Office Depot’s Director of Environmental Strategy, Yalmaz Siddiqui; Mary Pelfrey of U.S. Communities; and CAGP’s President, Karen Ruppe, who described the new Purchasing Guide for Environmentally Preferable Products produced by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Procurement Services Division.
